Damaged ends cannot be repaired and will continue splitting upward if not removed. Step Three: Professional bond building — Olaplex standalone treatments (four to six weekly sessions for severe damage), K18 polypeptide repair, hair botox for comprehensive conditioning. Step Four: Home care — sulphate-free products, weekly bond-building treatment, deep conditioning, leave-in conditioner after every wash, silk pillowcase, wide-tooth comb for wet hair.
Month one: stabilisation — stopping breakage. Months two and three: rebuilding — continued repair and conditioning. Months four to six: maintenance and growth, trimming remaining damage. Full recovery takes three to six months for hair to feel healthy, up to a year for all damaged sections to grow out.
